so what's new.....

so i'm in Jakarta now until December 07
just moved into a new apartment... wooo hoooo! so nice to settle into a place, have my own kitchen, etc. went to the store and bought an avocado the size of my head for less than a buck (one of my favorite fruits ever). just can't get that in the balkans.
so i'm all alone in the apartment until alex comes at the end of june. it's fine though because i'm used to being alone and i'm working so much anyway to prepare for our launch conference of our book THE REPORT: Emerging Indonesia 2007. So not much free time anyway. Betul came last week from our Istanbul office and she is a sweetheart and I've known her since I joined the company so this weekend we'll probably hang out in Jakarta and do girl stuff. who knows. Next week all the execs come from Istanbul and London and the launch is on the 6th of June and then we're taking off to Bali on the 8th. yeeaaaaaaaaa. I'm super excited to get some surfing and diving action in since it's been awhile...almost two years, or at least it feels that way, so it'll be good to get back in the sea.
what else what else? i just bought the dvd Blood Diamond with Leo (sigh) which I've been wanting to see for a long time but i keep falling asleep and can't get through it. Mahynoor knows how it takes me a week to watch a movie anyway. I'm also reading like 5 Bahasa Indonesia books to pick up the language. I hate being the white girl who doesn't know the local tongue... so I've got my work cut out for me.

today i chopped off all my hair

picking up where i left off........
i arrived in kuala lumpur on wednesday and felt a strange sensation of joy
home again
well.....not exactly.. but a home away from home
part of my heart buried here
part in argentina
part in colorado...
what can i say
wanderlust...a blessing and a curse
fascinated by the irony of it all
